Ms. Almaguer has been a part of The PlayGround Theatre since its inception. Past PGT roles include Priest/Siduri (Goddess of Merriment) /Ninhursag (Great Mother Earth Goddess), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Doll, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Fefé, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; and Maribel, Pluft, the Little Ghost. Additional credits include Tennessee Williams’ 27 Wagons Full of Cotton (The Yellow House); J.W. Von Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther (The Jesús Quintero Studio); The Big Funk (The Mad Man Experiment); Proof (Roxy Performing Arts Center); Bash (Union Productions), and Shape of Things (FIU – 2003 Best Actress Award from the Miami SunPost.) In addition to performing, Ms. Almaguer teaches in The PlayGround’s Education & Outreach Program. She has experience in Theatre Management/Marketing, holds a BFA in Theatre from FIU, and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Linda celebrates the success of ALICE

Ms. Bernhard is delighted to have the opportunity of working with The PlayGround Theatre once again. She appeared as Mother Ghost in the company’s very first production, Pluft, The Little Ghost. Nominated for two Carbonell awards – Best Actress in a Play, The Playhouse Creatures, and Best Supporting Actress in a Play, Wicked Sisters (The Womens’ Theatre Project) – she was also awarded Best Actress in a Comedy by Miami New Times for her performance in Hay Fever (Hollywood Boulevard Theatre). A member of Actors’ Equity Association, SAG, and AFTRA, she has appeared in Florida theatre from Palm Beach to Key West. She is a former member of New York’s LAByrinth Theatre Company and The Actors Gym.

What is Christian thinking about?

Christian T. Chan is thrilled to join the PlayGround Theatre as Prince Wàng in The Red Thread. New York City credits include Dar and Matey’s Christmas Extravaganzaaargh! (The Brick Theatre); The Legislative Process (NYC Fringe); The Taming of the Shrew and Cymbeline (Brooklyn Repertory Shakespeare Company). He is a proud member of the Obie Award winning Vampire Cowboys Theater Company, www.vampirecowboys.com. Christian earned his BFA from Ohio University, and his MFA from Columbia University. He is the 2008 recipient of the Bob Hope Fellowship.

Troy is always having a great day!

Mr. Davidson is a graduate of The Acting School of South Florida and a member of the Cosplay Comedy Troupe, The 3000 Brigade. Credits include Rock Odyssey (Arsht Center), Camp Kappawanna (City Theatre), and Composition Notebook (Fly Away Balloon Theatre). He was born and raised in South Florida and attended J.P. Taravella High School.

A veteran character actor who has appeared on South Florida stages since 1975, Mr. Gladstone has been featured in plays as diverse as Godspell, Death of a Salesman, The Merchant of Venice, 1776, Waiting for Godot, and Brooklyn Bridge (PGT). Motion picture credits include roles in “Hot Stuff,” “The Island,” and “The Specialist.” Appearances in over 60 local and national television commercials include a Clio Award-winning spot for The Miami Herald. Steve is president of the Florida Branch of Screen Actors Guild and a member of Actors’ Equity Association. He is delighted to be performing for the next generation of theatregoers!

Christina

Christina Jun is delighted to be making her debut with The PlayGround Theatre, playing the role of a lifetime, Ling Shih in The Red Thread. She has a BA in English Literature and theatre performance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY. Her New York City credits include Fault Lines (Ruffled Feathers Theatre Company); Bridge of Honor (Polaris North), and Accidents (a play written by Christina and produced by the Manhattan Repertory Theatre). Regional credits include Fool For Love (Act One Studios); The House of Bernarda Alba (Queen Mary Theatre Co in London), and Blossoms in Weeds (Chicago Dramatists). Film credits include Snow Flower and the Secret Fan (dir. Wayne Wang).

Stephen... after the show!

After completing high school at Miami’s New World School of the Arts, Mr. Kaiser went on to receive his BFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University. SMU credits include She Stoops to Conquer, directed by Stan Wojewodski (former Artistic Director of Yale Repertory Theatre) and Conquest of the South Pole. Stephen is the Artistic Director of the newly formed Man Research Theatre Company.

An actress, director, stage manager, and playwright, Ms. O-Neill-Butler is a proud member of Equity, SAG, and AFTRA. Previous credits include Uncommon Women and Others; Hold Please; Shiloh Rules (The Women’s Theatre Project); Rabbit Hole (Mosaic Theatre), and Three Tall Women (The Public Theatre). South Florida directing credits include Summer Shorts (seven seasons); Whose Life Is It Anyway?; Greater Tuna; The Apple Tree, and Central Park West. She co-produced and directed over 300 productions as Managing Director/Producer of the Green Mountain Guild (Killington Playhouse) in Vermont and holds an MA from New York University.

Jesus knows how to have a good time!

Mr. Quintero has directed and performed throughout the world in locations including Colombia, Cuba, Denmark, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Pennsylvania, and New York. Additional PlayGround roles include Priest/Anzu (God of Storms), Inanna and the Huluppu Tree; Troll, The Steadfast Tin Soldier; Momó, A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings; Juan, Pluft, The Little Ghost; and Father, The Beast. Educated at the renowned Teatro Libre of Bogota, he received additional training through the School of Russian Art Theatre in New York and directing work sessions in Brzezinca, Poland with Italy’s Teatro La Madrugada and the Grotowski Institute. Mr. Quintero teaches in The PlayGround Theatre’s educational programs and is the company’s Musical Theatre Summer Camp Director. Mr. Quintero is a member of Actors’ Equity Association.

Kate is thrilled to make her Florida debut with The PlayGround. New York City credits include Rapunzel (Manhattan Children’s Theatre); Id (Theatre 54), and The Corn Maiden (NYC Fringe Festival). Regional credits include The Parkville Project (The Playhouse on Park); Love’s Labour’s Lost, Stop Kiss, and Pentecost (all Connecticut Repertory Theatre). Film and television include Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, and The Sitter. Kate earned her BFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut.
